NetIP Chapters Celebrate a Record 2011!
2011 marked a groundbreaking and impactful year for NetIP chapters throughout North America.
This year, NetIP chapters held 750+ events and made unprecedented achievements in the areas of Professional Development, Community Service, Political Awareness, and Cultural Awareness.
Notable chapter accomplishments include:
· Launched the Charity is Colorblind campaign, an initiative of unprecedented magnitude in which all 23 chapters participated. Through CiC, chapters raised $95,000+, contributed 6,000+ service hours, participated in 140+ service events in support of various causes ranging from cancer research, child rights, education, and community restoration. Beneficiaries include Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation, Asha for Education, Hospital for Hope, CRYIndia, SAALT, Lend a Hand India, Red Cross, Baal Daan, and Habitat for Humanity.
· Provided unparalleled networking opportunities across the country including one of the largest leadership conferences inAtlanta and a much-acclaimed regional event inLas Vegas!
· Organized cultural galas attracting 1200+ attendees across North America, featuring renowned speakers and esteemed community leaders
· Partnered with Kaplan, Princeton Review, and other professional development organizations to hold graduate school admission workshops, career counseling sessions, and entrepreneurship coaching events
· Led a South Asian Arts & Literary Festival and supported three South Asian film festivals across theUnited States andCanada
· Recognized through 4 regional awards, including the DC Mayor’s Community Service Award, the New England Regional Community Choice Award and an appearance on NBC News
· Launched a chapter grant program to support robust programming and a national internship program to provide collegiate students with nonprofit experience for the first time in NetIP history
