NetIP Dallas Gives Back to the Community

On March 14th, 2009, NetIP Dallas held its Volunteer Community Service Day at the Museum of Nature & Science in Dallas, TX.  The event was part of NetIP Dallas’s Second Saturday of Service program.

NetIP Dallas volunteers participated in the Museum’s monthly program, “Discovery Day”, assisting with activities, demonstrations, and exhibits and getting children actively engaged in the learning process. The primary goal of the day was to improve the scientific understanding of children and their families and allow them to discover how science, math, and technology are present in many seemingly unrelated aspects of their lives.

NetIP Dallas volunteers alone contributed 50 hours of service! They played an essential role, helping to inspire families to make science a part of their family discussions and pursuits.  Following the event, the chapter received a personal note of appreciation from the museum’s Director, who thanked NetIP Dallas volunteers for their dedication to the event.  To learn more about NetIP Dallas and their upcoming events, please visit www.netipdallas.org.
